Mine chose to go to New Zealand, where the going was not as difficult, perhaps, though the Southern ones probably dealt with snow and extremely cold conditions.
I love the history, and like to salute those who came before us, to make our way easier.
I know my Yorkshire English Grandmother would have loved this new age of technology!Meggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13074676856646898900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5773972661069379733.post-59288169538385665542010-03-25T13:56:05.172-07:002010-03-25T13:56:05.172-07:00I really enjoyed reading about your grandfather......I really enjoyed reading about your grandfather.....
and I love the ear rings you own in the OWOH.....

Cath's Blog

Cath ÜCath Ühttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02331907373341046733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5773972661069379733.post-32605497771511781822010-03-21T20:02:51.053-07:002010-03-21T20:02:51.053-07:00Thank you so much for sharing the story of your Gr...Thank you so much for sharing the story of your Grandfather. Both of mine died before I was even born. In fact my own father died when I was only 13. The anniversary of his death was March 15th. I see from your profile, that we have things in common. I got married in 1980, one daughter who is 22 and lives at home while finishing up college. I love quilts. My favorite are yo-yo's and I have probably made a million of them, individual yo-yo's and not quilts, that is. So I have decided to add a few vintage fabric yo-yo's to the giveaway. Of course in pink and brown colors. Thank you for joining me in my giveaway and on my blogging journey. What a wonderful way to honor him...remembering him and writing about him. It made me cry. I didn't know my paternal grandfather and my maternal grandpa has been gone since 1978. Grandma is still doing good at 91 but, you know something, she never got over grandpa's death at 61. She was 59 and he was buried on their 42 anniversary. Wow..you've taken many people down memory lane with your post. Thank you so much.
