Thanks to Amy for hosting the festival.
Here is my current favorite choice of the quilts that I have made. There are others that I might have chosen but I love all the beautiful leaves in this quilt. I made it around 2003 and the pattern is from an older Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine. It has a maple leaf border that was my own addition to it. The leaves are cut from templates and I love the topsy turvey border. I made this quilt in a class with some other wonderful ladies over one winter. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons because of all the vibrant colors. It is one of a small group of quilts that I have kept for our home- most of the others I have made have been given away.
There are many other wonderful quilts and blogs to view in the festival- I hope you will go and see others on the list. please click on the icon
Have a great time,
Regards,
Anna

ReplyDeleteFabulous quilt! Love the autumn leaves.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and a big quilt, the furry friends seem to love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful choice for your favorite quilt. The colors are so warm and friendly-just like a Canadian! I had the pleasure of visiting your area (I think) just last August. We were in the Lake Louise area. Stunning beauty. It snowed in Banff! As a Floridian I appreciate things like snow and leaves changing colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words on my blog.
Best Wishes,
Melanie
Lovely quilt and colors. I also love nature. I am also impressed by the size of this quilt. I have never done anything this large!
ReplyDeleteI love fall, and your quilt evokes the season so well!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful. I like each leaf. Great quilt
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to make one of those. Perhaps a spring one as browns are not quite my thing.
ReplyDeleteJust popped in to see your quilt from Park City Girls list. I loved reading your profile-from quilting to teaching kids and loving animals...so much like me. I didn't get a chance to post a picture but will enjoy reading your older posts to. Have a great day.

What a beautiful quilt. I am so enjoying this festival, getting a chance to find quilters I wouldn't have found otherwise. I love your heading pic also, with your pets. They look so comfy on that quilt!

Thank you for your lovely comment! And your quilt is very beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what lovely Maple leaves! It is so inspiring and maybe I'll get the confidence to try it someday! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I too have a maple leaf quilt. Though mine is all applique, is that the way the ones on your border were done? I can't quite tell.
ReplyDeleteVery funny comment about Mars flushing the toliet. My mom is in the midst of trying to teach her cat to use the toilet. I wish her luck.
My boy Sunny, oh he's a love, some days he wears a dunce cap, but everyone who mets him adores him.
That's lovely and I see from your blog banner that it is well-loved.
ReplyDeleteYou've created a lovely fall quilt. That pattern is one of many I hope to make one day. Looks like Mars and Dusty can claim this quilt as a favorite. I've enjoyed looking at your quilting. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLovely Autumn quilt. It is also my favorite season and we are coming to it here in Ausgralia. Enjoy the rest of the festival - notjustnat
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt! I love the autumn colors too.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a much older quilt, one my mother made many years ago. After she died in her 50's, my dad kept that quilt on his bed until his death when he was 86. It was in shreds by then, but oh, he loved that quilt. Yours is much "edgier" and brighter. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThe leaves just look as if they're drifting about in the wind! Nice quilt!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful quilt! And it looks really big too. It looks like it was a lot of work. You should be proud of this one!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are such fun on your quilt. The colours are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely quilt, but after looking back through your blog at all the beautiful quilts you've made I'd have a hard time picking just one favorite.
